Welcome to the WPS GHA Portal! We designed this page to help first time and returning visitors understand the basic layout of the WPS GHA Portal.
American Medical Association (AMA) Agreement
The WPS GHA website includes Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes, which are the property of the AMA. Because of this, all WPS GHA Portal visitors must accept the AMA license agreement before viewing any contract-specific web pages.
Connecting to the WPS GHA Portal
Arriving at wpsgha.com, visitors have the option of choosing a jurisdiction and provider type relevant to their business needs. The menu allows providers to choose either the J5 or the J8 jurisdiction along with a particular business type, either Part A or Part B Medicare. Part A providers are those that send claims to Medicare on a UB-04 and Part B providers are those that send claims to Medicare on a CMS-1500. Providers who want to save their choices can use the “Remember my selection” box to eliminate this first step.
At the bottom of the page, visitors will find a blue banner with links for quick access to external websites and WPS GHA Portal information. The CMS website, WPS GHA’s Learning Center, Sitemap, and the WPS GHA Portal User Manual can be accessed using these links. You can find this banner throughout the portal.
At the top of each page of the WPS GHA Portal is a blue banner indicating the jurisdiction and Medicare type that the page addresses. Visitors can easily navigate from one jurisdiction and Medicare type choice to another by using the “Click here to change” drop down menu. On the far right hand side of the banner is the “Live Chat” icon which allows the visitor to access live help with navigating the transactional side of the portal when in color.
Underneath the blue banner is a header with graphic and written links. The WPS GHA logo and the house graphic link back to the home page for the chosen jurisdiction and Medicare type. Clicking on “Topic Center” will produce a drop down menu with links to topic specific pages. The “My Account” and green “Login/Register” box both navigate to the transactional side of the portal.
On the far right hand side of the header is a search box that opens the Google search engine, allowing visitors to search the WPS GHA Portal for specific information.
Topic Center Menu
The Topic Center Menu tab located at the top of each page header allows visitors to choose a topic specific page to navigate to:
Claims – Information on Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), Modifiers, Remittance Advice, and Claim Corrections.
Claim Review – Information about WPS GHA Medical Review, the Recovery Audit Contractor, and the Comprehensive Error Rate Testing (CERT) program.
Overpayments – Information about immediate recoupment, voluntary refunds, appeals of overpayments, and extended repayment schedules.
Appeals – Information about all levels of appeal, including how and where to submit a redetermination request.
Provider Enrollment – Information and instructions for initial enrollment, changes of information, revalidation, and opting-out of Medicare.
Policies – Information regarding National Coverage Determinations (NCDs), Local Coverage Determinations (LCDs), and coverage articles.
Fee Schedules and Reimbursement – Information about Medicare payments; including Fee Schedules, reimbursement rates, and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
Cost Report Audit (Part A Only) – Information about auditing processes associated with cost reports, setting up providers on the payment system, performing interim rate reviews, and conducting desk reviews for all provider types.
Training – Information about training, On-Demand presentations, and advisory groups.
Using the links in the Topic Center drop down menu, visitors can navigate to specific topic Guides and Resources pages. Links located on the left side of each topic page allow visitors to navigate to News and Updates, Guides and Resources, FAQs, and Forms. Below this information you will find contact information.
News and Updates – Latest news and updates relevant to the topic center.
Guides and Resources – Important information, resources and guides specific to the topic.
FAQs – Frequently asked questions related to the topic; updated to show recently added FAQs displayed at the top of the page.
Forms – WPS GHA forms and links to CMS forms related to the topic.
My Account and Login/Register
WPS GHA has merged the former wpsmedicare.com website and CMS Secure Net Access Portal (C-SNAP) into the WPS GHA Portal. The portal allows public access to the information side of the site, while securing the business functions in a transactional section accessible only to registered providers.
In the top header found on every page, both the “My Account” link and the green “Login/Register” button navigate to the page where WPS GHA providers of service can register for and log into the transactional side of the WPS GHA Portal. We include a link to the WPS GHA Portal User Manual, a guide to working in the transactional side, in the blue banner directly above the bottom footer.
Providers can contact WPS GHA in a variety of ways using the “Contact Us” link located in the header. From the “Contact Us” page visitors can email WPS GHA, use the ”Live Chat”, or send a secure message. Using the contract specific contact information drop down box, visitors can find department contact information.
